Instructors

Our two most senior instructors Alan and Roy are both experienced instructors and have proven their skills in combat operations where poor teamwork can have very serious consequences.

Roy Mobsby

Joined the army in 1968 as a gunner with the Royal Artillery but soon transferred to the 10th Battalion the Parachute Regiment(V) and from there to the 1st Battalion the Parachute Regiment for a two year tour of Northern Ireland. Finally transferring to the Royal Corps of Transport he has amassed 35 years as a soldier,both Territorial's and Regular service before taking his skills into the private sector.

Roy

He has served on active service in Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Oman, Bosnia and Iraq. 

During his time in the army he has amassed a number of interesting qualifications and instructor skills a few being Military Parachutist, Free fall

 Parachutist, Helicopter handler, Small arms weapons and tactics Instructor, Air Defence Instructor, Recruit Training Instructor, Close Protection Officer, Aviation security officer, Ships security officer, HGV Driving Instructor, and 432 Tracked Armoured Personel Instructor.

As a Parachutist he was a member of the Royal Corps of Transports Parachute Display team, The Silver Stars for over 10 years and competed for the Corps in several Army and International competitions.

He has trained and jumped with several different countries Paratroopers earning their wings and as well as his British Airborne brevet holds American, German, Danish, Estonian, Dutch and Czechoslovakian wings.

20 Years ago Roy formed The Pathfinder Parachute Group, a non profit making veterans Parachute club that specialises in jumping military style for fun. A more serious side of their club is helping to bring the sacrifices made by our veterans to the general public eye by Parachuting into such famous drop zones as Normandy and Arnhem on the annual anniversary events.

As an Assistant parachute instructor he has helped train jumpers from over 18 countries and has amassed almost 700 jumps both Free Fall and Static line.

His hobbies include Air Soft Skirmishing, swimming, jogging and Military Parachuting.

He is a member of WASF(The World Wide Association of Special Forces) 

Finally having served for over five years in Iraq as a Bodyguard and Convoy Protection Roy has brought his expertise to our events.

 

Alan Ash

Alan joined the Volunteer reserve as a Paratrooper in 1985 and having passed P company served with the 4th Battalion The Parachute Regiment(V) , 5 Airborne Brigade until 1990.
 
He left the Army to join the Private sector security industry as a Bodyguard. For the next 7 years he found himself working as security on various Humanitarian projects in Burundi, Croatia, Bosnia and Uganda.
 
Finally he went to work in Iraq as a bodyguard escorting senior members of the United States Army Corps of Engineers who were themselves working on the Iraqi reconstruction projects.
 
He has trained with the Estonian S.O.G on their foreign weapons and at the same time parachuted with them to earn their Military jump wings and he has attended and passed the US DOD Combat Life savers Course.Alan Ash
 
In 2003 he Instructed on a training team for Close Protection (PSD) on the Island of Malta Working alongside senior instructor Mr Roy Mobsby. Training members of the Maltese Defence Force and the Karate club of Malta. In his career Alan has seen considerable active service in some of the worlds nastier places. He is a keen Military Parachutist and is an active member and jumper with the Pathfinder Parachute group Europe and has parachuted into Arnhem for the battle for Arnhem anniversary display as well as being one of the first parachutist to land on Renkum Heath since 1944.
 
His hobbies include Air Soft Skirmishing, swimming and Traveling
 
He is a member of WASF(The World Wide Association of Special Forces) and a member of the World Wide Federation of Bodyguards.
 
Today he brings his expertise to our events.
